hope butterfly garden

HOPE for Bereaved, Inc. established a public garden in 1992 with support from Onondaga County Parks, Sollecito Landscaping Nursery, and the Board of Directors at that time. Starting with 135 trees, flowering shrubs, evergreens, rosebushes, geraniums and other flowers – the Butterfly Garden of Hope was born! The first memorial brick pathway was installed in 1996. Additional pathways continue to be added, as requests for memorials are received. In subsequent years, myriad items were added, such as: electricity, welcome signs, a wishing well, gazebo, pergola, benches, and additional gardens and greenery.

The Butterfly Garden of HOPE is a memorial to those who have died, a symbol of hope to the living and a place of comfort for the grieving. It is located on the lawn between Onondaga Lake and the Parkway in Liverpool, New York.
