Therese Schoeneck, Founder

HOPE for Bereaved was founded in 1978 by Therese Schoeneck after the death of her daughter Mary in a car accident.

At the time, there were no support groups in Central New York for parents grieving the loss of a child. Determined that something positive would come from her loss, she created a small support group that eventually became HOPE for Bereaved.

Today, HOPE continues that mission by helping thousands of people find connection and healing.
